Jurassic Park - Game Overview

Based on the iconic 1993 Spielberg film, Jurassic Park is a Microgaming slot built on 5 reels, 3 rows and 243 ways to win. It was the first game to use Parallax Scrolling effects, and honestly, the visuals still hold up. The thick tropical backdrop shifts as you play, giving the impression of touring the park itself. No lazy card symbols here - every icon ties directly to the movie.

You can bet from 30p up to 75 pounds per spin, which suits most budgets. It runs at medium volatility with an RTP of 96.67%, comfortably above average. The max win sits at around 6,333x your stake, and while that is not earth-shattering by modern standards, the sheer variety of features keeps sessions interesting. The cinematic soundtrack and 3D dinosaur animations genuinely add tension to each spin.

Symbols and Paytable in Jurassic Park

The lower-value symbols are five dinosaurs from the film. The Dilophosaurus pays 2x your stake for five on a payline, the Triceratops pays 2.5x, the Brachiosaurus 3x, the Velociraptor 4x, and the T. rex 5x. Higher up, the human characters take over: Ian Malcolm at 8.33x, John Hammond at 10x, Ellie Sattler at 11.66x, and Alan Grant at 13.33x for five of a kind.

The Wild is the famous Jurassic Park logo, substituting for everything except the scatter and paying 20x your bet for five across a payline. The scatter is the Fly in Amber symbol - a mosquito trapped in a glowing amber stone. Land five scatters and you pocket 100x your bet on top of triggering the free spins round.

Bonus Features in Jurassic Park

The T-Rex Alert Mode can fire randomly during any base game spin, adding up to 35 wild symbols stacked across the reels for the next six spins. When it hits, your chances of stringing together decent wins jump considerably. I have had it pop up during otherwise dead stretches and completely turn a session around.

The main event is the free spins round, triggered by landing three or more Fly in Amber scatters. There are five separate free spins features, each tied to a specific dinosaur and each awarding 12 free spins with its own modifier. The T. rex version can turn all five reels wild. Velociraptor spins bring split wilds and random 4x, 5x or 6x multipliers. Brachiosaurus adds a mystery multiplier between 2x and 6x and is the only round that can retrigger. Triceratops spins feature running wilds that grow by one per reel each spin, with stack nudges and respins. Dilophosaurus spits wilds onto random positions, and they stick as long as they form part of a winning combo.

One thing worth knowing: at first the game assigns your free spins feature randomly. You need to trigger the bonus 25 times in a session before you get to choose which dinosaur round you want. That is a fair slog, but it does give you something to work towards over a longer sitting.

Our Verdict on Jurassic Park

I would call Jurassic Park one of the most visually impressive branded slots Microgaming ever put out. The collaboration with Universal Studios and Amblin clearly had real budget behind it, and it shows in every animation and sound effect. Five distinct free spins modes, the random T-Rex Alert and 243 ways to win give the gameplay more depth than most slots of its era. The 96.67% RTP is generous, and medium volatility means you are not constantly grinding through empty spins.

Where it falls slightly short is the top payout. A 6,333x max win is decent but will not compete with newer high-volatility titles chasing five-figure multipliers. If you are after spectacle, variety and a slot that genuinely feels like the film it is based on, this is a must-try. Just do not expect it to deliver life-changing jackpots.
